A coalition comprising three members of the CARICHAM Network, the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SLCCIA), the Dominica Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DAIC), and the Martinique Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIM), responded to a call for proposals launched by Karayib Klima, an initiative created, piloted, and implemented by UNITE Caribbean, a Caribbean cooperation and development consultancy firm.

The project "Building the Resilience of the Caribbean Private Sector" supported by the coalition, aims to reduce the effects of climate change and the vulnerability of businesses to natural hazards, by strengthening collaboration between Chambers of Commerce, their partners and civil society organizations in Dominica, Martinique and Saint Lucia.

Through this project, we hope to enable businesses to take concrete actions within their structures to promote the reduction of major risks and adaptation to climate change for both their employees and their customers.

Within the framework of the planned activities, the companies in these three territories will receive support from Risks and Climate Risks professionals to assess companies’ specific risks, as well as create and implement their certified Business Continuity Plan (BCP). To this end, two workshops are planned in addition to company visits.
