IWD is a day to recognise how far we’ve come towards gender equality, and also how far we have left to go. Back in 1911, only eight countries allowed women to vote, equal pay for equal work was unheard of – if women were allowed to work at all – and reproductive rights were non-existent. We celebrate all women, in all their diversities.
We have come a long way. The global theme for International Women’s Day in 2021 is ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World’. COVID-19 has impacted women and girls in profound ways, amplifying the inequalities they face every day. It is fundamental that diverse women’s voices and experiences are central to national and global recovery plans.
Join the DAIC on March 8th at 3:00-4:00 PM for a webinar on the topic ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World’.
Moderated by Executive Director, Lizra Fabien, this webinar features four exceptional women leaders who are members of the Chamber: Evadney Esprit – Manager of DoIt Center and DAIC Director; Olive Strachan MBE – Founder and Owner of Olive Strachan Resources; Annette Lestrade – Business Owner of Compliance767; and Tamara Lowe – Country Manager of Tropical Shipping.
Ensure to tune in to understand the specific challenges faced by women due to COVID-19, to the wins made by women in leadership spotlighted and to gain insight into the strategies for achieving success by women in leadership in a COVID-charged business environment.
Be sure to share this with other women as we celebrate International Women’s Day! Of course, men are welcome too!
